Welcome to the Blog

Welcome to my blog, where I will keep you up to date about my current projects and about topics that move me. Even years after my retirement from competition, my days are more active than ever. My foundation Children for Tomorrow and other business activities and interests continually enrich my life with educational and exciting experiences, which I will share with you here.

I hope your work outside tennis is as successful as it was when you were playing – the foundation seems a great thing to do and good luck with it.

As inspiring as the individual you are and the causes that you are working towards, I share a similar front, but in music. If at all a proposition, I would like to present you with a song for your foundation. A song titled Children of Tomorrow. Will get down to writing it for you and your foundation as a contribution from me. Will be in touch.

Its good to see you play once again at the Wimbledon. Its this spirit of yours which has enabled many in the world to try to emulate you in Tennis. All the best for your future projects.
i watched the 1990 US OPEN finals and i thought that the match point ball was out. i wonder if anyone thought that or even noticed it?
So nice to see you are happy and doing good work, in this harsh world of ours we need people like you to inspire. I’m from Africa and see hardships everyday.
I’ve also been a big fan of yours, you are definitely a tennis legend. Thx for the memories of your great matches, and good luck in all your future projects
hey steffi
i am wondering if you will actually consider coming back on tour, i am wanting words of advise for the future, is it too late at 18 to be hoping to play pro tennis.

i am wondering if you will actually consider coming back on tour
Thanks for asking Waqqas. Its been great to look back but its been 10 years since I have really played competitively. I was really blessed to be able to professionally play a sport that I love but physically and mentally I feel that I have given all that I have to give in that part of my life. So no regrets and no intentions of making a comeback. My family, foundation and partnerships are my life now and I am just as dedicated to their pursuit as I once was to tennis.
Dear Steffi& Andrea,
I was very happy to see you recently playing tennis again together..
You both have inspired the tennis world for showing that it is not only a game, but Tennis is a world of Love..
God bless you..
Rabi
you my idol, you Are My Best Player In Tennis History In The World wide, you tennis legend.I hope your work outside tennis is as successful as it was when you were playing I pray for you every day,God Bless you
I’m very happy to see this blog improvement to your site. The English language part works well (although, clearly some of your Q&A’s were originally in German — the translations are different from how you speak in English)! It’s nice to be able to read your current thoughts on various subjects (especially as a wife and mom with children — which I am too). Most of all, I enjoy as a fan to be able to offer my feedback!
I very much enjoyed the Wimbledon matches this past Sunday (May 17th)! I got up at 5AM here in Los Angeles, California to watch first the Sports Century re-airing on you (Stef) from ESPN Classics (a real DOWNER show I must say — Andre’s is so COOL and FUN with that “Rebel” song constantly playing — but still I enjoyed yours because of your aunt and brother!!!). Then, at 6:30A the start of the roof-closing celebration with Sue Barker.
Being the fan that I am since first seeing Chrissie Evert at Forest Hills/US Open 1971, I then forced my kids (girl 16, boy 14) to watch the entire replay on Tennis Channel when it came on at 4PM! They’re fans — like it or not!
!
p.s. Any chance of sharing the full post match Wimbledon Celebration post match interview with you and Andre?
Keep up the charitable works! It’s my favorite part of what you and Andre stand for! Hang in there representing “family” love!
Hi Nancy,
Glad to hear that you like our new site. We are continuing to work on it and hopefully we will have a lot of new information and fun features as we go forward.
Next week we will have some footage of the inauguration of the new Wimdbledon Centre Court roof. Check back in with us.
Best wishes.
By the way, love the Kreiss furniture. I can’t afford it, but I like looking at it!

HELLO FROM GREECE!I`VE BEEN WATCHING YOU SINCE 1987 AND I CANT FORGET YOUR GAMES AGAINST NAVRATILOVA.WE HAVE THE SAME AGE,YOU ARE 3 DAYS OLDER!I WAS BORN 17/6/1969!ITS TOO BAD THAT I CAN WATCH YOUR GAMES ANYMORE.GOOD LUCK!
YOU HAVE MY DEEPEST WISHES FOR ANYTHING YOU DO!
Dear Steffi,
To start with, may God bless you and Andre for all the good things that you have done for the game of tennis and also off-court. It was a pleasure to watch both of you play on Centre Court at Wimbledon. You still have so much to give to this game, you know. Today’s tennis has power written all over it. It misses the charm that you and your contemporaries like Gabriela, Arantxa etc gave it.
I’m glad that you are much settled in life with two beautiful kids and an affectionate husband. Once again may God give you and your loved ones all the happiness that you deserve. I’m your fan from Mumbai,India and would be very happy if you visit our contry once in the future.
Take care,
Kamalika
Dear Steffi,
Greetings from Indonesia! I’ve been a huge fan of yours since I was a teenager. Tennis matches will never be as interested as while you were still doing pro. I often used to walk almost 2 miles just to watch you play on TV cable (I didn’t have one back then). You are always be my idol. God Bless You, Andre, and the kids.
Best Regards,
Fony
Meine liebe Steffi…
A long time ago, at the Australian Open, you purchased a Neoperne Baseball Bat
Do you remember ? And the reason for apparently ’strange’ buy ?
Probably because even then, you already cared for Children’s Sport ?
Would really like to share with you the new opportunities that still exist for this worthy cause
At same Aussie Open… you’ll probably also recall this idea for Kids’ Ball Sport Intro ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iVd-Y6yceMs
And the ‘Big Kid’ … who is still one of your greatest admirers
Roland
hi steffi
this is from amongst a millions of fans of urs… it was the french open of 1996 when i started watching tennis and ofcourse saw u for the first time…. it was ur match with arancha sanchez vicario in the finals and i was praying for u to win (though i hardly knew what the tennis is all about at that time……. i was just 11…)….. n u won……..n i knew that whether anyboby or not but i m delighted……… then onwards u were my first crush……. i might not be the greatest fan of urs but surely u r my first tennis star n still the best amongst all……
Hi again Steffi,
You are an Olympic Tennis Gold Medallist … and you have been an icon of the DTB.
Since your retirement form competitive tennis… with the formation of your worthy Foundation… and starting your own family… you have also rediscovered the fundamental needs of children.
You will also know from personal experience the tremendous benefits of Sports PLAY for children in their personal development at every level.
But sadly… children and their basic needs have become almost forgotten entities with Associations and Organizations who could contribute the most to providing new opportunities for ‘healthy’ sports play for children.
This has been my life-long mission… a sample of which appealed to you a long time ago
Would you be willing to view some of my ideas via a personal email to you ?
I would be eternally grateful.
Roland

Steffi Hello, you first of all I apologize for my English, but I am Italian. I do not know if you remember me, but I was a member of a group that often followed in Europe, “the cojo-nuts. ” It ‘always a thrill to read about you, even if many years have passed, the hope is to one day again, and maybe remember many good times spent together. A big hug t you, Andre, and the kids.
Cristina
Good to hear from you Cristina. Just thinking about the “cojo-nuts” again puts a smile on my face.
Hallo liebe Stefanie,
Hello Steffi,
Greetings from Scotland. It has been said many time that womens tennis is
all the poorer for your absence and, how true that is. During your magical career you have, and “continue to be” a wonderful ambassador for Germany and for womens sport .
I first saw you play at wimbledon [the match against Joe Durie} and you displayed such a rare combination of qualities at such a young age. I have got most of your matches on dvd that I have collected over the years [still have a few to find but ,I will get there eventually].
It is great to see that you have a blog and, are not lost to your fans, obviously you cannot reply to everyone but,at least this way your fans, of which I am certainly 1, can express the admiration and esteem in which you are held. I have been told that us Scots can learn German more easily than most other nations because many of our words are similar. so I am certainly going try . Here is my first attempt,
Vielen Danke, [hope that is correct]
All best Wishes,
Raymond Anderson.
Hi steffi
This is Grace from India.i have completed my masters in social work specialising in Human resource Management. In India generally those who speialise in HRM decide to work in an IT sector but i chose to work at the community level because my long term goal is to start an orphanage.I spent the last year searching for a job.No one was willing to give one because generally they fibnd it hard to believe that someone wants to actually work at the grassroot level..now Iam currently working on a healthcare project. My passion is to work with children,I have evn become a’at home’ volunteer for the International humanity Foundation.I have been assigned 10kids and I correspond through email. Now I somehow want to work with kids and I do not know how to go about.i would be so grateful if you would guide or suggest me the possible ways.location and nature of work is not a problem because Iam capable of finding my way up.Pl get back to me.My email ad gracearthurr@gmail.com.By the way you looked lovely on the Roland Garros presentation.I admire you.Looking forward for your reply.Thank you
Hello Steffi, i´m nervous bc i can´t believe that your are going to read this. i was one of your better fans, i saw you in every championship and i always crossed my fingers for you, nowdays you make a wonderful job. I didn´t know you but i always though that you have a very interesting personality and the biggest heart in the world. Hugs and kisses from Spain.
Nely
Great to hear from you Nely. Say hi to the folks back in Spain from me. I got a chance to spend a lot of time there in my younger years practicing and getting ready for tournaments. Its a wonderful country.
Hello there! I am curious- your last tournament was in San Diego, California in the summer of 1999. Right after Wimbledon that year, I was so sad to hear you say that was your lst match at Wimbledon that I sat right down and wrote a letter to The San Diego Union-Tribune discussing you and your career and how sad it was for the world stage of sports to see you leave it. A few months later you came to town (for what turned out to be your last tournament) and the paper printed my letter. I was always curious if they printed it knowing you were in town and if you ever saw that letter? Just wondering, so glad you won those 7 Crowns!!! Eliot
I didn´t know that you spent so many times when you were younger in spain, you know that i speak spanish, if sometimes you need a help i´m very proud of helping you. I live in a beautiful town near Madrid. You are amazing, you look wonderfull and beautiful. Thanks for make me so much happy. See you soon. Nely.

Happy belated birthday! Come visit us in South Africa!

The the photo of Stefanie with the laptop shows her on a Kreiss sofa? If so, I suggest using this photo for the furniture ads. Those cushions look sooo comfortable!
Hello Steffi,
I’m so impressed with all of your work and passion toward your foundation that focuses on the world’s most precious citizenry, our children. I taught first grade these past ten years in Austin, Texas and children have certainly brought much joy to my life. Is there a way that our local schools can be involved in your charity? I have tremendous respect for you as an athlete (you are the best woman tennis player- ever!) and it would be an honor to help in some capacity with your foundation, to reach these children who are in such need. Philanthropy is a big part of our curriculum and how great for children who have been blessed with so much to help other children. Who do I need to contact about this? Thanks for all that you are doing.
With great respect,
Shaunna

Hi Steffi,
I am so happy and excited to see your new blog on your website. This gives me a chance to thank you for being my hero and role model throughout my life. On Feb 12, 1989, when I was 12 years old, my parents took me to Detroit, MI to see you in the Euro-America Cup Exhibition. You signed a poster for me that day and I will never forget it. A few years ago, I came to the Genworth Financial Exhibition in Virginia. You again signed a poster for me, and I had so much fun seeing you and Andre play!
I have been following you for such a long time and wish you much happiness and success with your new projects and goals. While it has been many years since my mom let me stay home from school to watch you play tennis on TV, I was just as excited watching you play at the Wimbledon exhibition.
Thank you for being such an amazing champion, for all of the hard and meaningful work you do on behalf of children, for always taking time to acknowledge us, your fans, and for creating so many wonderful memories for many fans who followed your extraordinary career!
Sincerely,
Lori
Dear Steffi / Andre
I want to complement, what both of you stand for, and what you are involved in, it is bigger than tennis, both of you are leaders now, to a lot of people.
Both of you have been an inspiration to me, from my own early tennis days, i would have joined the Nic Bolliterri Academy in 1988, but due to military service still being compulsory in South-Africa, that time i couldn’t, and so farewell to my career.
I want to thank you for allowing people like myself to share a bit on your blog.
Keep me updated on your charities, and oh yes, lovely German Sheppard, you got as a present.
Regards
Don Maasberg
Liebe Steffi,
per Zufall bin ich auf eine Webseite mit einem Bericht über Dich und Andre gestossen. Plötzlich fragte ich mich: „Was macht eigentlich Steffi Graf so?”
Thorsten
Steffi, you are the reason i watched the game of tennis and wishing you as much success off the court as much as you had on it. I am simply put your very devoted fan.
God bless.
