There are so many reasons why October is one of my favorite months. We celebrate a lot of birthdays including both of our kids and many cousins. It’s also our anniversary month; this year it was our lucky number 13. And always a highlight for us is our annual Halloween party. Each year we eagerly anticipate seeing what creative and interesting costumes our family and friends have come up with…and the one that will be crowned the winner. Here’s a picture of us from this year…I went as Pippi Longstocking and Andre was Austin Powers. It was a fun evening and since it was Friday we got to spend a little more time Trick or Treating through our ‘scary’ neighborhood.
With the start of November the end of the year comes into a sharp focus. There is still a lot of work to do for my foundation to target our fundraising for next year and last minute business trips. The kids are also busy with a few more sporting events before the end of the year. The weather in Las Vegas is starting to get us into the spirit of Thanksgiving and since the stores are already decorated for the holidays it’s hard not to start getting excited for Christmas…cooking together, the advent calendar, baking German cookies – it doesn’t get any better.
And as fast as the year has been going, I need to start writing my list now! I’ll be doing my ordering on-line through the Boost-Project LINK which gives a percentage of my purchases to Children for Tomorrow – at no additional charge.
