Australian Open 2010

konnte man ihrem Spiel ansehen. Es hat Spass gemacht, dem Finalspiel zwischen
Kim Clijsters und Henin zuzuschauen. Clijsters konnte es im Tiebreak im
dritten Satz (6:3, 4:6, 7:6 (8:6)) für sich entscheiden. Nachdem Kim

Federer an den Masters in London und gegen Nadal in Doha feiern konnte, scheint er zur Zeit mit neugewonnenem Selbstvertrauen in grossartiger Form zu sein. Auch Del Potro und Djokovic spielten beide starkes Tennis im letzten Herbst;

    Hi Steffi:

I can’t believe you have a blog now on your webpage (I have visited your webpage before, but I can’t seem to recall seeing the blog). I don’t know if you read these comments but if you do, I wanted tell you one thing – you’ve been a great inspiration for me for a long long time, since I was 10. I didn’t even know much of tennis back then, I was only a kid. However, I can still recall the 1988 Wimbledon final and that changed a lot of things in my life. I started following tennis closely from that time for one thing. And I had someone to draw inspiration from, for another. And this hasn’t changed much since then. So thanks a lot even though you don’t really know me.

Yes, I am in front of my television watching Aus open now on TSN. I am a little unhappy to see how Maria Sharapova lost but I really admire her upbeat, unyielding attitude in the press conference later.

Since I wrote so much, I might as well confess another thing. I have secret desire and that is, I hope someday I am able to meet you face to face. That would definitely be one of the greatest personal achievements in my life :)

Happy New Year to you Steffi and all your family. Hope yo have a fulfilling year!

    REgards,
    Ani

I am really looking forward to Justine’s comeback and the Kim-Justine rivalry all over again. I think we will definitely get to see better tennis in the women’s draw. The one-sided two setters are just no fun, nor are the games in which there are no good shots only power and big serves!

    • Stefanie says:

Yes, the year in comebacks should be fun to watch and congratulations to Justine for what she has already accomplished this early in the Season. Just last night she made it to the semifinal of the Australian Open.

I think Roger and Serena are going to win.

But the Australian Open is just not the same without you, Steffi !

Hi Stefanie and everyone else here,

While the eve of the Australian Open womens’ final is probably abit late to field a prediction :0) I had a feeling about Justine; too faint to justify saying it out loud. It would be special, wouldn’t it….We’ll know tomorrow.

As for the men, I’ve witnessed in Britain over the last few years the hysteria that surrounds Andy Murray every time he looks like he’s found a promising position. I think this is the first genuine opportunity he’s had for a grand slam, but of course there is Federer. And who better to stand between him and his first major title.

I hope both matches live upto their billing.

    Reagrds to you all,

    Marie-Paule

Delighted for Henin…brilliant performance so far, hope she can go all the way! What about Louk Sorensen from Ireland getting to the second round – very historical for us all here in Ireland – delight for him too!! Just puts in perspective all your achievements.

Anyway, have a great weekend and enjoy the finals!

    Hi Steffi,
I have been a fan of yours for well over 20 years now. I really enjoyed watching you play during the late 80’s and early nineties… I think you were awesome back then. Thanks for the blog I really enjoyed reading it. I was disappointed that Justine lost in the final but satisfied that she made it so far. Roger Federer looks unstoppable at the moment…. still, the tournaments are not the same without you there!
    Take care to everyone
    Nathan Barnes
