End of Year Review 2012

Dear Friends of our foundation

We are happy to report that the last year was not only extremely successful but also
prepared our foundation for a thriving year 2013. Without your support and help none of these milestones could have been reached:

New records:

Our psycho-therapeutic and psychosocial offers reached more than 400 children in Hamburg – the highest number of children and adolescents in the history of “Children for Tomorrow”.

New employees:

We were able to enlarge the team of enthusiastic and dedicated doctors, psychologists and pedagogues at our outpatient ambulance in Hamburg throughout the year! A very warm welcome to all our new team members!

New members of the Advisory Committee and Advisory Board:

We would also like to welcome our new members of the Advisory Committee and Advisory Board. We are very much looking forward to hearing their ideas and suggestions to improve and enrich the work of our foundation.

New statutes:

We expanded the purpose of our foundation in our statutes in order to better address the requirements of refugee children individually and to better accompany them in their new environments.

New website:

A new concept needs a fresh facelift as well: please visit us at www.children-for-tomorrow.de. We aim to draw more attention to the destinies of refugee children with this new website.

New partners:

We entered into a wonderful cooperation with the musical “Starlight Express“. The actors collect donations for “Children for Tomorrow” after each show – more than 100,000 Euro so far! We applaud and say thank you so much!

New friends:

More than 100 guests celebrated our first CfT summer party with us. Along with our employees, supporters and loyal friends we were delighted to welcome many patients from our outpatient ambulance as well.

Why do we need your support in future?

Without your donation we could not properly treat traumatized refugee children. Every little helps and from our detailed charts of expenses you can see directly in which way you were able to influence a project. Why not take a look at our list of projects and pick the one you want to support:

“Strong Minds“

Since 2012 we have been able to provide the school programme “Strong Minds“ at a boarding school for war-traumatized children in Gulu. In the afternoons our team explains psychological symptoms and their treatments to children and their teachers. We would like to extend the project to further schools in the area.

Support the project now with:

25 Euros / month for an hour of counselling

200 Euros / month for the complete school programme

“CfT Minis“

We would like to offer a new project called „CfT Minis“ for refugee children under 10 years of age in sheltered accommodation. In playfully arranged counselling classes traumatized refugee children can be psychologically stabilised and supported in their adjustment to their new life between two cultures.

Support the project now with

50 Euros / month for therapeutic material

300 Euros / month for a pedagogue

I am looking forward to 2013 – with your assistance, we will continue to support many more children and their families with therapeutic help.

I would like to thank you very much for your help and support and wish you all a merry

Christmas!

Yours

Stefanie Graf
